SEO localisation workshop for translators
Join Maria Scheibengraf for a hands-on SEO localisation workshop for translators. Whether you’ve never taken on an SEO project before, or you’re a seasoned marketing translator who needs to get up to speed with how search has changed, this is for you.
Maria will show you what SEO localisation involves in practice today. You’ll work through a structured workflow covering:
– Understanding local search intent, and where it diverges from the source market
– Conducting keyword research that goes beyond literal equivalents
– Adapting content for local audiences and AI search visibility
– Packaging your deliverables in a way clients know what to do with
The methodology is language-agnostic and applies to any language pair. Attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop (not compulsory!).

Board on Tour ’26! – ITI Board comes to London!
The ITI Board is going on tour! Over the course of the autumn, Board members will be stopping by geographical networks to meet members, listen to their feedback and stimulate conversations about how ITI can support you further. It will also be an opportunity to ask about how things work on the Board, how decisions are made and maybe how you could one day stand for election.
As part of the Board on Tour ’26 project, the LRG will be hosting an event with Dean Evans and Lena Marg, members of the ITI Board.
As it may not be possible to run dedicated events in all geographical networks, the Board encourages members of London-adjacent networks to attend this event.
Buy a drink at the bar, and come up to the first floor to meet Dean and Lena, members of the LRG Committee, and fellow ITI network members.

Hidden Meanings in Legal French with Tom West
The LRG and LIFT have joined forces to bring you decades of legal translation experience condensed into one practical session! Veteran translator Tom West will take us through the most deceptive, easily confused, and regionally specific terms in legal French. Highlights include:
– Legal terms whose meaning is different to their apparent meaning
– Expressions that are easily confused
– Expressions whose meaning in legal French is different to everyday French
– Expressions that are hard to translate without an understanding of French law
– Terms used in Belgium but not in France
– Terms used in Switzerland but not in France
We’ll will wrap up with a discussion of the French court system in 2026 and the proposed future changes. You’ll walk away with a richer understanding of the nuances of legal French and a clearer view of today’s legal environment in France
