What’s On?

LRG's Christmas Party
We are back, one more year, at The Glassblower Pub for our traditional Christmas party. There will be a welcoming drink of prosecco or non-alcoholic drink and, after the formal AGM, a full buffet, with a choice of meat, vegetarian, and vegan dishes, and the traditional mince pies and clementines.
The LRG Committee is very much looking forward to meeting members, partners, and friends.
Fri, 1 December 2023, 6:30 for 7 pm, likely until 9:30/10:00 pm.

The benefits of working as a social enterprise
Maria Scheibengraf has agreed to talk at LRG’s annual ‘New Year-New’ You event, about the company she co-founded Crisol Translation Services Ltd.
The social enterprise company aims to provide ethical excellence – helping businesses foster meaningful cross-cultural understanding while ensuring fair treatment and recognition for the translators who make it all possible, demonstrating that a profitable translation industry founded on fairness, ethics, and social responsibility is possible.
This is an opportunity for LRG members and visitors to re-evaluate their work and business model.

Interpreting pre, during and post-Covid
A top-class team of interpreters will be talking about their own careers, how they entered the profession, which area they chose to specialise in and why, and share some advice with new entrants to the profession as well as established interpreters thinking about changing the focus of their work.
Thu, 22 February, 2024, 6:00 pm
The evening will end at approximately 9.00pm
