Freedom from Torture
(previously the Medical Foundation)
4-6pm, Thursday 10 September 2015
We are very pleased to be able to offer this exceptional visit to Freedom from Torture (previously the Medical Foundation)
A rare opportunity for a private visit to this charity which has been working for more than 25 years to provide direct clinical services to survivors of torture who arrive in the UK, as well as striving to protect and promote their rights. There are several branches around the UK and Scotland. We will hear about the mission of the organisation and its working methods – there will also be an opportunity for small groups to meet and talk to specialist practitioners.

We will then visit/view the New Moon and Lamb Taverns in Leadenhall Market before crossing the road to visit/view the famous Jamaica Wine House in St Michael’s Alley (London’s first Coffee House) before moving on up Bishopsgate towards Liverpool Street Station and the site of Spitalfield Market to visit/view the Ten Bells and Pride of Spitalfields pubs.
